  • The Q[kju:]-Online platform is used to help control the entire process of preparing and managing the examinations, also taking care of the necessary communications between the people involved.

    Q[kju:]-Online always picks up at the point where the existing university administration systems such as Fact Science or HIS reach their limitations. Administration costs are significantly reduced as a result.

  • Codiplan provides the entire hard and software plus technical support for the written examinations on site. Because the Q[kju:] system is a WLAN-based system, any lecture hall or suitable seminar room can be used to hold the exams. The system also enables different exams to be held in one room. This is a major advantage especially at the end of the lecture period because it means that optimum use can be made of existing room resources.

    With the help of digital techniques (Q[kju:]-Client for electronic exams or Q[kju:]-Pen for paper-based exams), the student exam input is recorded and then evaluated in the Q[kju:]-Master. As a result, the data are made available to the relevant group of people immediately the examination is over. The evaluation is carried out automatically (except for evaluation of text input). Text input is evaluated anonymously by the examiners. Personnel resources are saved as a result.

  • Exam questions are collected in a central database and, with the aid of an automated item analysis, constantly evaluated with regard to quality characteristics. The assessment for each question is documented in graphic form and categorized with the aid of clearly recognizable symbols.
    The resultant data can be used to evaluate the pedagogical concept and the teaching content.

  • Codiplan has gathered very good experience with evaluating courses/tutorials immediately after completion of the written examinations. The feedback rate can be increased as a result to well above 80 %. The system is functioning so successfully at the Hanover Medical School that evaluation events are now requested for seminars and lectures that do not end with an examination.
